Just Say No. Or Yes.

Jan 18, 2017

I get several requests a week through my website and online booking services. Sometimes I hear from the prospective clients. Usually they book me (from this website, especially) and sometimes they don't (that usually happens the online booking services).

When people contact me through my website, we usually engage in a dialog, discussing not only my fee, but also their needs and desires for the success of their event. Then we decide together if my show will be a good fit for their event.

When contacted through and online booking service, there is usually no communication. Very rare do I hear back from client. Are they just looking for the lowest cost? Have they changed their minds about the kind of entertainment they want? Have they cancelled their event?

Who knows? (Except for them, and they aren't telling!)

If you're one who is searching for entertainment online, be polite. Don't leave them hanging. If you've decided to not use them, tell them so. And... tell them why. It'll help them figure out what they can do to improve their marketing. Thanks!
