No Company Party Entertainment? WHAT??!!

Oct 10, 2014

I was recently contacted by one of my booking agents in Denver, CO regarding performing at a company party. The party is taking place at a well-regarded (and pricey) Denver restaurant. I told the agent that I was available on the date of the party and relayed my usual (and reasonable) performance fee.

Today I got an email from the agent informing me that the client (or planning committee, more likely) decided against having entertainment at this year's soiree.

That means there will probably be nothing for the guests to remember. The food, as good as it will be, will probably be forgotten. The awards for most punctual employee, cleanest desk, etc. won't matter tomorrow.

What would have been remembered is live entertainment. And... if it was a comedy hypnosis show, they'd remember the stuff their co-workers and guests did!

Hopefully, when this party is long-forgotten and the planning starts for next year's, they'll remember to make their party memorable by having me (or some other form of live entertainment) perform.
