Is Your Entertainer Insured?

May 13, 2014

Hopefully you won't have to use it.  But be sure the entertainer you choose (especially if that entertainer uses volunteers from the audience) is insured.  I get a report each year from my insurance company outlining the claims made by clients.  Those claims are always minor issues (like a volunteer twisting and ankle when coming up the stage starers) but, accidents do happen.  Make sure the entertainer you choose carries liability insurance.  It not only means they're covered in case of an accident, it also means (in the case of stage hypnotists) that they've taken and passed a basic safety course.  Stage hypnosis, magical illusions using volunteers, etc. are safe forms of entertainment, if common sense is used by the practitioner.
